The new direction of Infusionsoft, it has rebranded and split their product offering. They are keeping Infusionsoft as a product and it is now being called Infusionsoft by Keap or “Old” Infusionsoft and they have a new product called Keap or “New” Infusionsoft

Infusionsoft Brief Background

Infusionsoft is a private company that has been around since being founded in 2001, it started lean and with a lot of excitement with its revolutionary Campaign builder, which to this days is still beyond amazing. Infusionsoft was and still is a geeky or sophisticated tool, there is a lot to know, but on the flip side it can do a lot of customised automation tricks, save you time and really deliver something amazing. In summary its a powerful tool.

The was focused on the large small business market with its solution as a email marketing and sales platform or CRM, with it offering features to help small business manage their customer lifecycle, customer relationship management, marketing automation (campaign builder), lead capture and ecommerce.


Its goal was to be the top automation solution for small business.

When did Infusionsoft rebrand to Keap?

The company offically rebranded from Infusionsoft to Keap in Feb 2019 and at the same time split its product offering to Infusionsoft by Keap and Keap.

What does Infusionsoft / Keap offer now?

The new brand going forward is Keap. Infusionsoft is now being called Infusionsoft by Keap and they are keeping this product on the market as a more advance automation tool. In addition is the new product called Keap.

The product Keap has feature from Infusiosnoft and can automate but these are very different products. Keap is a streamline and well designed CRM that makes it easier for business to access there contacts and do what is needed to say in touch.

Imagine Keap as a tool for handling your business with phone calls, quotes, invoices and keeping information easy to see use and action.

Picture Infusionsoft by Keap as an automation online solution that is strongest for customising a solution just for your online business sales and business processes.

What Is Infusionsoft by Keap?

Think of its as old Infusionsoft or Infusionsoft by Keap which is the same as it was yesturday and is still your advanced online automation tool. Infusionsoft by Keap will continued to be developed, improved and supported. Keap and IBK  (Infusionsoft by Keap) will continue to evolve in a positive direction. We will let everybody know regarding positive modifications.

What is the same with these 2 products?

They both have the Visual Campaign Builder as the back bone to the system of automation. Keap has less goals options and some reduced sequence features.

Central to these solutions are the use of Tags and Custom Fields, this is the central method to track, add information, for segmentation, information storage, behaviour tracking and filtration or searching.

Both Keap and Infusionsoft by Keap have a CRM systems with sales and marketing automation with ecommerce depending on what package you select. Keap you will need to ask to have ecommerce features added on.

What are the new features with Keap?

Keap has a new improved design, UI and streamlined layout that will really make it easy for you to access your business information.

Opportunities is now called Pipeline.

This feature is powerful and lets your business track your sales process and make sure customers are followed up on. It works really well with lead follow ups, with phone calls, sales stages and general business work flow. This is still a very powerful tool within Infusionsoft by Keap that in my experience was never used to its fullest by clients. In Old Infusionsoft it had to be custom built and customised to your specific business structure / process but was maybe not visually appealing or to complexed for sales teams to really get the most out of it. 

The Pipeline by Keap is simple, easy to use and gives a great overview of your process. This is a great change that will get a lot of use within the new product.

  • Not responsive design. (nor is it in Infusionsoft by Keap)

This is the only feature on Keap that is not responsive design. The menus will adjust to save space and it can be accessed on mobile.

New: Pipeline by Keap:

  • Deals rather than opportunities

  • Deals can be linked to 1 or more contacts and users.

  • Interface no custom fields or new action dates etc.

  • Can only add notes.

  • Deals can be dragged to new stages or you can click the different stages within the edit view of the deal.

  • Can send an email from within the deal.

New: Quotes and Invoices by Keap:

Keap has a major focus on making it easy for businessess to handle there leads / customers and provide a contact focused design. Making it easy to run your business with a click of the mouse.

New dashboard design.

  • The most useful information to run your business.
  • Smart widgets that change on your process within the app.
  • Smart feature reminders.

Contact central hub.

  • Quick searching mode, to find a contact.
  • Filtering for more advance searches and lists of contacts.

  • Filters out un-used custom fields.
  • No more horizontal tabs / categories.
  • A more native navigation and simple design.


  •  Keap has a simple check box to complete tasks in seconds.
  • Can access tasks from Tasks menu and contact record.
  • Can create a task that is not linked to a contact.
  • 1 task per contact.

Online Booking Calendar

  • New integrated online calendar booking feature.
  • Fully integrated into Keap.
  • Connects easily to your google calendar.


Reports have been simplified and grouped into one section called reports. Keap has focused on the reports that business really need and aimed to make these easier to use.

Nothing has changed and Infusionsoft by Keap is an amazing automation tool that can do a lot but because of that it can be, some what overwhelming.

The developers at Infusionsoft noticed patterns of use over time, that highlighted certain features not being used by a larger sections of users.

Keap is a new product design with these statistics in mind to deliver a more streamlined and simplified product that does what this new group of business needs.

  • No referral affiliate program

  • Ecommerce
  • Order forms / shopping cart.
  • No visitor tracking

  • No score tracking by actions.

  • Opportunities (but is now called Pipeline in Keap)

    • No next action date or notes.
    • No revenue forecasting (Can see current revenue)
